ADVENTURE IN KIGAN CASTLE (1966) - REMASTERED
Kiganjo No Boken - As monk Ensai journeys down the Silk Road in search of the relics of Buddha he befriends a sword-wielding Japanese student. While on their way to deliver the relics to a Japanese diplomat, the pair travels with a camel caravan into the town of Pesil, where they stumble upon a conspiracy to overthrow the King in nearby Kigan Castle.
A good mixture of drama and comedy, the breathtaking journey of the monk trying to find Buddha's relics while avoiding rebel attacks, the daring rescue-the-castle mission, the wizardry magic and the action-packed climax all blend perfectly to provide a very entertaining feature.
Filmed on location in Isfahan, Iran. A spectacular action film that brings a storm to the great desert of death! Godzilla producer Tomoyuki Tanaka returns to helm this film, as well as composer Akira Ifukube, who provides another haunting score.
