Shinsengumi - focuses on a group of young Samurai who were hoping for a bright future by working for the Tokugawa in the 1850s and 60s, the last days of the Shogunate.
Shinsengumi's members believed in their way to sustain order in Kyoto, and were most feared by the radical Samurai groups which were assassinating the Shogunate supporters. Their strong will would often collide with one another which eventually caused the era to move from the feudal Edo period to the modern Meiji era.
This drama presents the glory and fall of the men of Shinsengumi that lived through the age of turmoil in Japanese history.
