A Story from Echigo is about Gonsuke, a man forced to move back to his hometown when his mother falls seriously ill. He envies his fellow countryman Tomekichi for his excellent reputation at work and his beautiful wife Oshin. Driven by jealousy, lust and envy, he can’t stand to see the happy couple of his village. Then one day, he rapes the wife….. and as winter changes into spring, the enmity between the two men leads them and the woman tossed between the two to their irreversible fate.
