STAKEOUT (1958) - REMASTERED
Harikomi - Two detectives begin a stakeout based on the slim chance of
catching a murderer whom they suspect will try to reunite with an old
flame.
A veteran Detective and a junior associate are trying to capture a murderer during an oppressively hot summer. Their fugitive has fled Tokyo, leaving no real trail. For lack of any better options, the two officers travel to a town in Kyushu where the criminal’s former girlfriend lives. Once in Kyushu, they rent a room in the hotel across the street from her home.
Eventually the senior Detective returns to Tokyo. However one day, the girlfriend gets a letter that changes her demeanor and she soon sets off on a journey alone (except for the Detective tailing her). She finally does rendezvous with her former lover, still unaware of his legal problems. As they go together to a resort Inn the Detective begins to gather local reinforcements…
