Yemeni Faturan - like the traditional Faturan - is a synthetic phenolic resin with a mixture of products sometimes including amber as well as tree resin. It is not excatly known what goes into its composition as it is made by artisans who use their own formulas. It is a kind of Modern Faturan. It is estimated that these beads date back to 20 to 30 years.

Beads have an average diameter of 11.2 mm and 9.5 mm in thickness. They are all hand carved - NOT moulded beads.
It is a nice and well balanced strand weighing a total of 33.5 grams with an overall length of 35 cm ( abt 14 in.). It is a real pleasure to handle and its shape and size will fit all users.
The tassel, shield and separators are Sterling Silver, entirely hand made.
