My name is Michael and I am a 21 year-old college student. I started my eBay business in 2006 to start raising money for college while I was still in high school under interesting circumstances. That is, my mother agreed that for every dollar I could make on my own she would match it and put it toward my collegiate education. Wanting to avoid taking out loans at all costs and wanting to avoid burdening my single mother of some of the costs of college, I got to work.

In order to raise money I began by selling many of my old, unused personal belongings. Over time I was able to make connections through my parents and through friends and began to sell other people's old, unused personal belongings. Even now I continue to sell my own belongings, those of others, and have even managed to make a few connections with wholesale suppliers to increase the number of items I am able to offer my customers.

Today I am a fourth-year undergraduate student (out of five years) and have ambitions to attend law school. Through my efforts on eBay and through working various jobs over the past few years I have been able to make enough money to pay for half of my education (while the other half has been paid for by my mother).A large majority of my profits (~90%) are used to pay for college tuition and to cover my business expenses. I plan to continue my business beyond my undergraduate career to help pay for law school and hope to one day pass my business and knowledge on to my younger siblings to continue to help pay for their college expenses.
