Now this is the key to this box-------Most items can be obtained from Rockler-Handles straps-Strapping and Strapping Latches.

It has metal corners,ornate corner holders,with one rear one missing,and 2-brass hinges on the rear.

The top of the box is natural wood with all its natural patina,same patina with the inside.

I obtained this some years ago at an Estate Sale in Manchester VT.as is as obtained,with the notion of rehabbing it and putting it in my Post and Beam House.As you see I still have not worked on it,time to let someone put there time in it and enjoy this conversational piece.

I could go in to the history of how there used,but I think whomever purchases it will enjoy forever after the rehab.
