Antique Rare Medium Splint Lap Basket w/Lid

Measures-14" x 13" x 5'

Has a woven handle,2 woven top eye hooks for the natural wood closure that you can choose.

The bottom of the basket has a 12 which I will assume is the year of it being constructed.It has eye appeal and with that it puts the basket near excellent condition,basket construction sets the stage for the price of the item. All i can say the basket maker took such great pride with there craftmenship,and it shows in the construction of this lap basket.You do not find these so well kept.

Has three runners to carry the weight of the inside objects,with well constructed edges of large tubular wood.

Shows its natural patina for its age,some minute splitting to the wrap that does not take away from the piece,obtained at an Estate Sale in Warrensburg NY,from a very prestege family that has handed this down within the family.

This piece would just go well with your papers and bills for a storage area and to write your notes,or better yet it could hold your dinner napkins for you main table,either way this will become a great conversational piece thar everyone will enjoy.
