This is an antique wooden Smoothing/Coffin Plane made by Sandusky Tool Co. in Ohio identified on the front of plane. There is a number 3 also stamped on front. They were in business from 1869-1921.

A great old wooden plane for your collection.Blade is intact,sharp,will need some cleaning due to rust on the blade.There are 2 blades affixed together.

The block is solid,but has some surface cracks to the ends,it has all its natural patina to the wood.

Obtained at an Estate Sale in Rutland VT as is as obtained,This is a beautiful tool,whether you actually use it,or add it to your collection of examples of capable workmanship.I have alot into it.
