THE HISTORY OF EGYPT, by Maspero, Rappoport and King and Hall ……13 volumes.... Published by Grolier in 1903 – 1906……The first nine volumes are edited by A. H. Sayce, and translated by M. L. McClure. The first nine volumes are by Prof. Maspero, who closes his history with the conquest of Alexander the Great. These volumes were issued in 1903…... Following three volumes (numbered as volumes X to XII on the spine, but as I to III on the title pages,) were prepared by Dr. S. Rappoport, and were issues in 1904…… Volume 13, a supplementary volume, "History of Egypt in the Light of Recent Discovery", by King and Hall, was published by the Grolier Society in 1906, and this volume was issued in a different edition than the first 12 volumes, tho all volumes have matchin' covers……Edited by A. H. Sayce, and translated by M. L. McClure……This one is a mighty rare set, a LIMITED EDITION to 1000 copies of which this is number 624, and the 13^th volume is #208.....The set has a heap of mighty nice pictures, over 1200 colour plates and illustrations, and with hand-coloured frontispiece to several volumes ……     

    DESCRIPTION - The are bound in 3/4 leather, with gold letterin` on spines, and marbled boards and endpapers.....And - tops of pages tipped in gold....…....Mercy!!!!...

    CONDITION - The set is in overall good condition...Covers and pages are secure.....Covers have general wear, scuffs, and three of the books have chunks of leather torn from the spine……Also, there are scraped and torn areas on the boards of a couple of the books.....The pages are good, with the edges browned……But don't let this throw you, this is a solid set......And this  one is really rare, folks - mighty tuff to find...I think you will be powerful pleased with this set.....And - - the illustrations jist might knock the breath out of you…!!!.........
