This is a beautiful new writing instrument from Bill's Talented Turnings.  The Wood is a beautiful piece of African Wenge.  Wenge is a very dense medium textured dark hardwood from Central West Africa. This piece was cut across the grain and turned with the end grain facing out.  The is a very difficult way to turn Wenge.  The fibers are very easily torn from the blank.  This is a challenge for the most experienced pen turners.  I nailed it on this one but it took me a while to make it.  Razer sharpe skew chisel is a must for this one.  I turn each one of my pens one at a time.  The Chrome plating on the metal parts of this pen will wear for many years.  This is a very comfortable pen to write with.  The wood is finished with CA Glue and it is polished to a high gloss.  This finish is the most durable finish I have be able to find .  This pen would be a fine addition to anyones collection.
