when I started this clearance even I did not realize the amount of valuables I had hoarded over the decades of Horse trading,buying,bartering, nor did I realize the MASSIVE amounts of research we were going to have to do. I personally have traded, had antique stores what not shops, 3 retail stores, large construction MOTEL renovators & residential, floor covering store. I come from a family of Indian heritage (APACHE) relatives of Samuel Foster (FOSTER'S PARK Fort Wayne) relatives of Art Smith the FLY BOY (Smith Field,airport FortWayne) I was blessed with living GREAT GREAT Grandparents as well as Great grandparents and Grandparents. My Great Grandparents were part of Dillingers Gang when he pillaged this area and are in the books, I have unbelieveable stories and as you can imagine amazing finds, I broke my neck and back, sold the farm and now have to down size, thus back to MASSIVE AMOUNTS. All my family from the early 1800's to present were collectors, hoarders an interesting sort and I have it all. I dont have time to do extensive research and my memopry is not as GOOD as I thought it was so we have decided to list to the best of our ability thousands. OK call me strange if you want, but read this and tell me, what you think?
Being of Indian heritage we have many beliefs (1 area is spiritual/paranormal phenomena) that most who DON'T know better think are bizarre or myth, so we seldomly discuss it in the mainstream American culture and are sometimes chastised by our own.I consulted family and had mixed reactions and have decided to post the truth.This compact we are offering belonged to my full blooded APACHE Great Grand mother. We took pics and set it on the coffee table right in front of my labtop. I fell asleep on the couch. Woke in the morning and prepared to list. One item was the compact. It was gone! I asked my daughter, my son who has MS and cannot walk with out assistance and neither had touched it. I was a little upset and we tore the living room apart, even cleaning the furniture as we moved it. It was no where in sight.We have learned to disregard strange and unexplainable as they are relatively common in all of our family. So that evening I fell asleep again on the couch in a (NOW)spotless LR and my daughter on the couch across the room. (again all normal behavior around here) We both woke up bout the same time, as we sat across from one another something dropped on the floor on the other side of the coffee table, my daughter gave me one of those "What the heck" looks got up walked over picked up the compact handing it to me saying "where did you find that Daddy?" I told her I didnt....UNEXPLAINABLE events in many ways. where was it? how did it get there? why did it drop on the floor and from where? ok you think I'm spoofing or NUTZ, I am not. This type of stuff is not a joking matter in our family nor something we use for gain. It is a "GIFT". My sister advised to "let it go" somebody doesnt want it sold! I dont get that feeling.. Nuff said !!!
So here we have a 30ish concord compact with the original screen.Approximately 4" in diameter. Im not sure of the metal composition,, the case itself is turquoise in color, I believe to be enameled with golden inlay. it needs some good cleaning. inside it is in good condition, however the mirror has come loose and appears to have pulled some of the silvering off the back of the mirror and is in need of repair. The stuff around the blacking area where the mirror detached appears to be old powder and in need of good cleaning, otherwise the case, powder pad, screen and little powder is all good... ENJOY

4. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GRADING OF PAPER CURRENCY AND/OR COIN?
Personally I feel grading is a subjective science..I have personally collected currency for over 40 years and bought/sold for 30 years plus.I used to grade and post my opinions in the past and still do from time to time, however in most instances I prefer to leave it to the experts. Many notes we are pulling from our private collection should be sent to a competant grading service ( we will leave that up to you)just because of the rarity and historical value and do carry a HEAVY nuisimatic value in any condition, Because of this I do sometimes tend to not give full descriptions ( a deficit of mine, that I need to slow down and overcome) altho it actually is to your favor / my loss / your gain ! Feel free to email us on any item that I have hurried on and I will be glad to give a more descriptive answer. I will try to describe the best I can and leave the grading up to the pro's who do it daily.I hope I don't come across as ignorant or arrogant, I am a serious collector. It irritates me when I see a PRO with credentials mislead in their wording the grade of any collectible and come on lets get real it is rampant on many sell sites not just Ebay. I have seen in one year the explosion of currency realizing well over 600% increases in demand and value ! 1991 approx. to 1992 as an example.... I am a serious collector and love the history it has taught me and my children. We have chosen to share this excitement.
