This is a large and profusely illustrated book includes, the volumes published from January
to June 1891 i and is Punch Vol C (100).
It has contributions from the masters of cartooning, art,andthe leading humorists of the age.
The illustrations are detailed and enteraining,andfeature,many hunting, shooting, horse riding,
various sporting, international and current affairs, satirical cartoons and many others.
The illustrators are,John Tenniel, Harry Furniss,George DuMaurier,
“ J B P” (Bernard Partridge),Linley Sambourne, “E T R” 312PP have marbled edges, are clean with no marks and lightly aged with foxing to the end papers.
The binding is tight with no loose or missing pages.
There is previous owner's printed private armorial book-plate at the front “Walter Gray Bellairs”,A person
who can be found listed in burkes peerage,
The original embossed brown cloth hardback cover shows a gilt picture of Mr Punch in the centre of the front
board, and gilt lettering on the spine. The cover is in very good condition with light edgewear except to the
top of the spine where the cloth has been chiped away,bottom spine has started to chip.
Walter Grey Bellairs is listed in burkes peerage and lived in 6 Eaton Mansions, Cliveden Place, London, England.
