How to Make Homemade Car Air Freshener?

If you can't live without the presence of a car air freshener, but don't want to pay a fortune to keep your car smelling great, consider making your own. You can easily make homemade car air freshener with just a few simple ingredients, many of which are probably already lying around the house. This recipe yields enough car air freshener to last 1-2 months.

• Using a sharp knife, or other suitable object, poke several holes in the top of a small metal tin. The tin you use to make this car air freshener should be small enough to fit under the seat of your car, but also large enough to hold some potpourri and several cotton balls.
• Remove the holed lid from the tin, and fill it about ¾ of the way full with the potpourri of your choice. This will form the base for your car air freshener.
• Soak several cotton balls in the fragrance oil of your choice. Try to use a fragrance that compliments the potpourri you've used.
• Place the soaked cotton balls on top of the potpourri in the metal tin. If you find the scent of the car air freshener too strong, you can omit some or all of the cotton balls.
• Replace the holed lid on the tin, and your homemade car air freshener is ready to be used. Place it under your car seat and enjoy the fragrance every time you take a drive.
