How to Set Up this Controller Card: - Turn off your computer and all devices connected to it
- Remove the computer's cove. Refer to your computer user manual for more details
- Find an unused PCI slot and remove the metal bracket. Save the bracket screw for later use
- Align the card horizontally with respect to the PCI slot a nd insert it into the sot. Once your have properly positioned the PCI I/O card into the slot. Secure the PCI I/O card with the bracket screw you have saved
- Replace the computer's cover
- Turn your computer on. You are now ready to install the driver
How to Install a SATA Controller Card: - Turn off the computer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet or power strip
- Remove the screws used to secure the side panel of your computer case by hand or with a screwdriver and then take the side panel off
- Locate a free PCI slot on the motherboard for the SATA controller card
- Remove the screw securing the face plate to the case with a screwdriver
- Insert the SATA controller card into the PCI slot on the motherboard and push it into place
- Secure the screw for the faceplate with the screwdriver
- Connect one end of an SATA cable to the hard drive or CD/DVD drive and the other end to the SATA connection on the motherboard
- Replace the side panel and tighten the screws to secure the panel
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet
- Turn on the computer and press the "F2" key to access the BIOS to verify that the hard drive is being recognized by the computer
- Press the "Esc" key to exit the BIOS and restart the computer
