Think about this being a budget, homemade masquerade mask. You will probably only use it once, so let's make it cost efficient and unique. You will have a one of a kind mask at the party. Have fun and enjoy this craft, do it yourself, at home project. Work on a flat surface where you will collect your items you will be using. Have a pair of scissors handy for the final cutting out of your masquerade mask.

Consider your template for your masquerade mask. There are free boxes that have cereal in them, in your home or some that can be acquired quite easily at grocery stores. This will be your final template for the masquerade mask we will be making. Decide what features you need. Do you want huge eyes, different sized eyes or animal looking eyes?

Draw a similar design to the idea for a mask that you wish to make, on paper first, if you need acute assistance, like me. If you are an artist, you are 90% there already in this project. Since you can practice many times, until you get it just the way you want, your masquerade mask can change as you want it to until you get the job done.

Decorate with sequins, artificial materials such as dripping from a candle or go with any or all of these suggestions: small pebbles, shells, egg shells, grass, twigs, noodles, kitty litter and the list is without end what can be used. Depending on your costume you can be creative to the enth degree. Old, crumpled newspapers, deflated balloons and other ideas will make your homemade mask a one of a kind at the party.

After you have either glued, using Elmer glue or a hot glue gun, let the decorations dry on a flat surface. Then, pierce two holes with a fork or knife at the ends where you will tying 2 pieces of ribbon, twine, elastic band or similar object to secure your masquerade mask to your head.
