How to Clean Hydration Bladders:

A hydration bladder that fits into a waist or back-pack is one of the easiest ways to carry water and stay hydrated on the trail. Cleaning them properly after every use will prolong the life of the bladder. This is vital as they can be expensive to replace and using a dirty hydration bladder can make you ill. Cleaning hydration bladders immediately is the best safeguard against mold and bacteria growth

Instructions:

• Dump out the contents of the bladder. Rinse the bladder with clear water to remove residue, especially if anything other than plain water has been stored inside
• Fill the bladder with water and add 1 to 2 squirts of mild dish soap. Tip the bladder so that the soap solution rinses through the tubes
• Scrub the nozzle and cap with an old toothbrush or nylon brush and soap. Rinse out the bladder and hoses
• Place 1 to 2 cap fulls of bleach into the bladder and fill with warm water. Let soak for 20 minutes
• Tilt the bladder to route the bleach solution through the hoses then dump out the solution. Rinse the bladder and hose thoroughly to remove all bleach residue

Tips & Warnings:
