How to Tie a Waist Belt:

So how do you get out of that rut? Try a new knot. The obi, a Japanese waist belt, is used both for martial arts uniform belts and kimonos. • Wrap the obi around your waist two times. The end you start with is going to be wrapped underneath.
• Take the loose end and tuck it upward underneath the two layers already wrapped so that it is directly against your body.
• Find the beginning end and pull it down then check to see if both ends are even. Once they are both pulled out, they should look like a diagonal.
• Take the bottom end, turn it, and tuck it underneath and in between the two wraps. Be sure to leave a gap.
• Take the top end and tuck it through the previously made gap and then between one layer of wraps. Both ends should now be pointing down.
• Pull tight and flatten. Your knot should look like a diamond.
