How to Use an Extension Cable on a Touch Dock



An iPod Touch dock, like any other universal serial bus device, can have its cable extended. Although USB devices have a maximum extension range of 16 feet, extending the cable up to this point will not cause sync or performance issues. Extend the Touch's dock cable using a conventional USB extension at the other end of the docking cable

• Plug the dock connector into the back of the iPod Touch's dock.
• Plug the other end of the dock cable into the USB extender's female end.
• Route the other end of the USB extension cable to a free USB port on the PC or laptop. Plug this into the free port.
