Repeat this on the other side of the plate. Insert the tip into the center of the plate and lift upwards. Pull the plate off the bottom and place it aside.
  • Remove the screws now revealed on the bottom with the #8 Torx screwdriver. Insert the tip of the iPod opening tool into the seam between the bottom plate and the headphone jack inside the left side of the nano. Lift up on the tip to loosen the headphone jack. Pull the headphone jack out of the bottom of the nano, but do not break off the attached connecting cable.
  • Remove the screw revealed from under the headphone jack with the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver. Slide the switch at the nano's upper right corner so the orange stripe is seen.

Remove the screws now revealed in the top with the screwdriver.
  • Insert the tip of the iPod opening tool into the bottom of the nano. Push up to raise the logic board out of the top. Grip the edge of the circuit board at the top and pull it out of the nano. Place the logic board on the towel face up.
  • Insert the edge of the razor blade into the seam on one side between the LCD panel and the logic board. Slide the razor blade across the length of the LCD panel to loosen its hold on the logic board. Repeat this on the right side of the LCD module and along the top. Pull the LCD module off the case. Insert the tip of the iPod opening tool into the ribbon connector on the logic board going from the LCD module. Lift up on the tip to loosen the plug. Pull the plug out of the logic board.
  • Place the LCD module on the towel face up. Insert the tip of the flat-edged screwdriver into a clip on one side of the LCD module. Lift up on the tip to release the clip. Repeat this on the other side of the LCD module.
  • Pull the glass out of the LCD module's frame. Dispose of the glass properly. Place the replacement glass into the frame. Push down on both sides of the LCD module to reengage the clips.
  • Reattach the ribbon connector to the logic board. Apply glue from a glue stick to the back edges of the LCD module. Place the LCD module on the logic board in the position it formerly occupied. Press down lightly on the sides of the LCD module. Let the glue set for 10 minutes before proceeding.
