    Description:

This 200-card standard-size set was marketed with 133 small trivia cards. This inaugural set for Sportflics was initially fairly well received by collectors. Sportflics was distributed by Major League Marketing; the company also maintained distribution agreements with Wrigley and Amurol. The set features 139 single player "magic motion" cards (which can be tilted to show three different pictures of the same player), 50 "Tri-Stars" (which show three different players), 10 "Big Six" cards (which show six players who share similar achievements), and one World Champs card featuring 12 members of the victorious Kansas City Royals. Some of the cards also have (limited production and rarely seen) proof versions with some player selection differences; a proof version of number 178 includes Jim Wilson instead of Mark Funderburk. Also a proof of number 179 with Karl Best, Mark Funderburk, Andres Galarraga, Dwayne Henry, Pete Incaviglia, and Todd Worrell was produced. The following sequences can be found to be in alphabetical order, 26-49, 76-99, 101-124, 151-174, and 187-199. Cards 1-24 seem to be Sportflics' selection of top players and cards 25, 50, 100, 125, and 175 all set milestones or records during the 1985 season. The Robin Yount Yankee error (#42A) is not considered part of the complete set.
