Auction is for an Old, Vintage SET of 2 CARLING'S RED CAP ALE Aluminum COASTERS. It is surprising that this duo have survived, because the majority of vintage Brewery Memorabilia, such as these, have long since disappeared. Red Cap Ale fans know how hard it is to come by articles like these. Recently acquired, this pair present in altering states of condition. The first is in outstanding condition, while the second is in very poor condition. It is likely that one was used and the other was put on display. Breweriana Collectors may want to consider the same thing. The one Coaster, in really good condition, still has the embossing of the Cap presenting in brilliant red, with the background of the Label still in dark black. The second Coaster sees most of the image of the Red Cap, only as an outline, with a fair amount of scratching and fading to the banner. The surface of each Coaster has 8 dimples, to prevent a Bottle, or Can, from touching the surface and to permit the condensation to drop into the Coaster, so it doesn't drip off the dispenser, when taking a drink! Still, a fantastic, rare find for Carling Red Cap Ale Collectors. We would recommend hanging the best of the pair, with a display, or plate hangar, or even consider framing it. In fact, a framed pair would even be better.
