Auction is for a Vintage FIRE KING Milk Glass, Ovenware MUG. This is a Contemporary piece of Collectible MILITARIA. Portrayed, on the Mug, is a Military Scene entitled "Firing the Cannon", at OLD FORT HENRY. This was/is a Military Garrison, built in Upper Canada by the British, for defense against invasion by the American Military, during the WAR OF 1812. It says "old FORT HENRY", due to the fact that the Fort that exists today, is not the original, but is the second one that was built on the site. The "old" Fort, is the one depicted on the Mug. On the reverse side is portrayed the Emblem of the Fort Henry Garrison (see photo inset). Although not generally referred to in American History, there is a rich, fascinating past, in the shared history to what are now, perhaps, the world's closest neighbours, allies and friends (Canadians & Americans).

FIRE KING Patterns are sought after, but items referencing specific Topics, Historic Places etc., are extremely RARE! This MUG / CUP stands 4 inches high and the murals are Black & Gold.
This mug is in good vintage condition. There are some inclusions that appear to be from the manufacturing process and not damage. More pictures are available, via email.
