Clients Have To Say About Us!!!! And Please Be Sure To Click On This Link: http://stores.ebay.com/stevecornellgallery And Browse Our Other Current Listings! We List 10-12 Pieces EVERY DAY! This modern Abstract you are about to bid on, is a fabulous oil on board by
the listed American/New York Artist Lawrence B. Salander (born in
1949), who is also the infamous former art dealer and owner of the
renowned Salander-O'Reilly Galleries in Manhattan.
Representing
the style, that used quick and bold brushstrokes and a bright color
palette to describe the world, the artist conveys the battle between light
versus shadow impeccably by utilizing the lighter, warmer shades of reds to represent the sun, and darker cooler shades to express the expanses of trees.
Salander's evident brushstrokes are beautifully and intensely
exaggerated, which brings such passion to the viewer. One look at this
extraordinarily miraculous scene and the viewer feels as if they are
experiencing the beauty of the tranquil forest first hand.
The
image measures 9" x 10" and 11" x 12' and the artist's signature is inscribed into
the paint, located on the top right. Condition report: The artwork and frame are in great condition. The artist's work is definitely a solid investment. Here is just one of his auction records (Askart.com):

7/24/2010 New Entry! Auction House: Stair Galleries ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Lawrence B. Salander is a former New York City art dealer and an artist. His company, the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries, was cited by the Robb Report in 2003 as the best gallery in the world. By late 2007, Salander had been sued by numerous customers and business partners who claimed that Salander and his company had defrauded them. In November 2007, Salander filed for personal bankruptcy, listing John McEnroe among his creditors. At the time, several artists represented by Salander-O'Reilly also claimed to be owed money. As a result of his bankruptcy, Salander and his wife were ordered to relinquish control of their finances to a trustee. In March, 2009, Salander was charged with 13 counts of first-degree grand larceny, 10 counts of second-degree grand larceny, and other charges. After posting bail of one million dollars, Salander was working in the Phoenix Art LLC Gallery in Millbrook, New York. On March 18, 2010 Lawrence Salander pled guilty to 29 felony counts of grand larceny and was sentenced to six to eighteen years in prison.
