Radicals of their time, a group of French artists challenged established rules of academic painting by giving color primacy over line. Instead of merely conforming to common practices of art, these early Impressionists took the act of painting from the studio to the modern world. The impressionists tried to capture the momentary and transient effects of painting by sunlight. Embodying the effervescent essence of a true French Impressionist painting, this work is imbued with a brilliant array of highlights.
