Yellows and creams are interjected by blue, pink and purple shapes that create tension and a conflict of foreground and background in this remarkable piece. Stunningly painted, the oil has body and is rich in color; the artist has blended pigments, creating some sense of fluidity whether the shapes sit on top of each other or side by side. Alternately drawn in and filled in areas assist in dynamism and reveal the variety of talents of Wunderman. Inspired by the field painting of the original Abstract Expressionists, the artist has explored the questions related to the style through splitting the color field and allowing loose, free gestures to mingle on a solid ground and express his imagination.
