This is an original Dairy Reys Metal Bowl, for bread, fruit, that I received in 1986, and the great thing is that it is heart shaped. On the top there are 5 cabachon stones wrapped in metal similar to solder.
The size is 12" by 12" and the height from top to bottom is 4". The color of the glass stones are navy, purple, green, lighter blue and blue green.
The way the basket is made is 3mm wire is wrapped to form the sides. On top, there are multiple wires to form a 1/2" rope which is wrapped with a flattened wire.
The bottom is actually a basketweave made out of wire to form a solid base.
It is so unusual and back in 1985 when Dairy Reys designed all the pieces for the company, a New Hampshire company tried to knock the designs off.
This was one of the first times that knock offs were attempted but Dairy Reys was a Florida Company and sued the NH Company for copy infringement.
This can be used for bread, fruit, candy, or what I did is hang it up on the kitchen wall, with the rest of the different things I loved! Thanks for looking.
