Exceptional home theater performance
Klipsch's
Reference Series speakers have a fun, lively sound that has always
connected with Crutchfield customers. They have a certain energy to
them that makes them perfect for home theater. The R-605FA is one of the
newest tower speakers in the line, and it's the only one that has a
built-in upward-firing Atmos speaker.
The main cabinet houses
two 6-1/2" woofers and a horn-loaded 1" LTS (Linear Travel Suspension)
tweeter. The Atmos-enabled speaker uses a 5-1/2" driver and a 1" LTS
tweeter. These next-gen drivers use trickle-down technology to deliver
room-filling, immersive sound.
Take your films to new heights
The Atmos speaker
mounted inside the cabinet works by firing sound upward. The sound
gets reflected off your ceiling and down onto your listening position.
It's a great alternative to cutting holes in your ceiling for
custom-install speakers.
Next-generation drivers
Each of
the R-605FA's woofers uses spun-copper TCP (thermoformed crystalline
polymer) for its cone material. Klipsch chose this material because of
its smooth response and transparency. The woofer also borrows technology
from the company's more expensive Reference Premiere line. It has a
similar cone shape and uses additional ribbing for extra rigidity, which
reduces distortion at higher frequencies.
The hallmark 90°x 90°
Tractrix® horns found on the main speaker and Atmos speaker have
a widened opening for more high-frequency directivity. That means the
tweeter inside each horn has a wider "sweet spot" and delivers more
detail inside that sweet spot.
