	Costus barbatus leaves Costus Barbatus Flowerhead Costus barbatus bare root rhizome This item is sold as a hardy bare root rhizome with significant new growth and root structure, similiar to the one pictured above.  The costus barbatus is a lovely ginger plant, growing with lush green spiraling leaves. Depending on climate, this ginger can grow to 1 to 2 metres and produce bright red large flowerheads from spring through summer. Your ginger will arrive as a very hardy rhizome with significant root growth. The plant stem will be cut back for safety in transport. Once you receive your rhizome and plant it in either a pot or the ground, new growth should then emerge. Hardiness Zone: 3 to 7 (Most of Australia) Truly a must for any ginger garden!    All orders are processed on Monday after payment is received. Your plant rhizome will be removed from our planting beds and prepared for shipment as a fresh bare rooted rhizome. The roots will be washed and wrapped in moist paper and protected for shipment.
