Heliconia Caribaea Jacquini
	The Heliconia caribaea jacquini is an erect heliconia which grows to approximately 3 meters, depending on conditions. It produces up to 5 to 10 bracts (what some would call the flower) per year. Bracts usually start to form about one year after planting and will do so during the warmer months of the year. Tiny flowers form in the center of each bract. This heliconia forms a compact bush with tall banana like leaves.   Each bract has an approximate vase life of about 2 weeks, making beautiful in flower arrangements. As well, the plant can serve as a border, protection of streams and are lovely in landscaping, adding a tropical flare to the garden. Grows best in warmer climates in a protected area with full sun. Best to keep away from the wind, as this will fray the leaves.   ***This item is sold as one plant, with the stock cut back for shipping. It will be a hardy and healthy rhizome with bare roots and new growth. Ready for planting in a container or the ground. ***     All orders are processed on Monday or Tuesday after payment is received. Your plants will be removed from their planting beds or pots and prepared for shipment bare rooted. The roots will be washed, wrapped in moist paper and protected for shipment.
