Just as David did in his TV special, and totally impromptu, you ask a spectator if you can borrow a dollar or any kind of bill. This can even be done with a piece of paper, a leaf, etc.
Once the spectator has given you the item (important that you are provided with it so it is clear that it is not gimmicked) you slowly begin to crumple it up, into somewhat of a ball. The bill is never out of sight so clearly no switch is ever made.
Slowly you open your hands and reveal the now crumpled item. With the knowing confidence of a gifted magi you slowly remove both of your hands to reveal the bill, paper or other provided item floating right there, in front of the spectator. You can even make it levitate, ever so slightly.
As slowly as this gorgeous levitation was assembled is how quickly you remove the bill from mid air, handing it back to the spectator for full examination.
