"ACE IN THE HOLE"

You take a deck of cards out of their box and hand them over to a spectator for inspection, placing the empty box to the side. Once the spectator is satisfied that the cards are not gimmicked, you then take them back. Next, you explain that the Aces are the trickiest, most powerful and often most devilish of all cards. They can morph, appear, vanish, anythign they want, and often of their own volition. To demonstrate this, you exclaim that you will perform an experiment illustrating this oddity.

You pick up the deck and fan them, facing you, gathering three Aces together, the Ace of Spades, Clubs and Diamonds. Once you have these 3 Aces you put the rest of the deck down and show the Aces, as a group, to the spectator. One by one you disburse the Aces throughout the deck, one towards the bottom, one towards the middle and one towards the top.

Suddenly, you hear something, a movement, a riffing sound, something, but you are not sure what. You ask the spectator if they heard anything to which they will reply "no". You, however, are convinced and know it is the work of the Aces. You ask the spectator to pick up the deck and remove the three Aces from before.

The spectator reaches for the deck and begins to search through it, pulling out one, two, three Aces, but wait, there's no Ace of Diamonds. Again, you react to hearing something, this time your attention is drawn to the empty box that's been sitting beside you both this whole time. With a knowing smirk, you open the box and inside, is the missing Ace of Diamonds.

Everything may be inspected.
