This is a cute little covered, off white bowl with a raised pairs and leaves pattern around it and a pair as the handle of the cover. There are no identifying marks of any kind on it and a search on my part on the internet turned up nothing like it. I am no expert, but it looks vintage but not really old. I have seen a Gibson pattern something like it. I can find no chips, cracks, or crazing of any kind on it. It looks in perfect condition to me. I am not sure what the original use for this bowl was but I would call it a candy dish. It is about 5" across and about 2 1/2 " high. The cover adds about another 1/2". I am also not sure what material it is made of. I am calling it stoneware just as a frame of reference as to the heavy nature of it. It could be some kind of glazed pottery or even a heavy china. If you can identify it or narrow it down, let me know. In the mean time, it would make a neat piece on your coffee table or buffet.
