“Following on the heels of an album where he repudiated his past with his greatest backing band, Blood on the Tracks finds Bob Dylan, in a way, retreating to the past, recording a largely quiet, acoustic-based album. But this is hardly nostalgia — this is the sound of an artist returning to his strengths, what feels most familiar, as he accepts a traumatic situation, namely the breakdown of his marriage. This is an album alternately bitter, sorrowful, regretful, and peaceful, easily the closest he ever came to wearing his emotions on his sleeve. That's not to say that it's an explicitly confessional record, since many songs are riddles or allegories, yet the warmth of the music makes it feel that way. The original version of the album was even quieter — first takes of "Idiot Wind" and "Tangled Up in Blue," available on The Bootleg Series, Vols. 1-3, are hushed and quiet (excised verses are quoted in the liner notes, but not heard on the record) — but Blood on the Tracks remains an intimate, revealing affair since these harsher takes let his anger surface the way his sadness does elsewhere. As such, it's an affecting, unbearably poignant record, not because it's a glimpse into his soul, but because the songs are remarkably clear-eyed and sentimental, lovely and melancholy at once. And, in a way, it's best that he was backed with studio musicians here, since the professional, understated backing lets the songs and emotion stand at the forefront. Dylan made albums more influential than this, but he never made one better.”

THIS IS IT! Out of all of the Bob Dylan records I have owned or listened to, this is my all-Time favorite one! Why? It’s the SOUND! In case you don’t know it, Guitar Players and Musicians in general are obsessed with Tone and the way an instrument sounds, and I am both a Musician and a Guitarist! Anyway, the musicians on this album all have a Bluegrass music background. Eric Weissberg was an Amazing guitarist who’s group Deliverance was known as one of the best bluegrass bands around. As I said, Dylan always works with the best!
Songwriters often write about the current events that are happening in their own lives. When you are going through a turbulent time, you can’t help to NOT write about it. I also wrote quite a few of my own songs when I was going through my own divorce. It is almost like a purging process and a sharing process because the people who hear the songs can sometimes share the feelings you the songwriter had, even if that listener never makes the connection. It’s almost Karmic!
This Limited Edition LP is a Half-Speed Master, printed on Audiophile 180 Gram virgin vinyl, using Mobile Fidelity's Gain 2 Ultra Analog system, the ultimate in Audiophile sound. This is part of a Limited pressing and each album is numbered, the label on the back saying “Special Limited Edition". This album is remastered from the original master tapes using Half Speed Mastering and pressed on High-Definition 180-Gram virgin vinyl. It has a special Dust-And-Static-free inner sleeve and heavy-duty protective packaging!
If you look at the photos, you will see that the album set comes in a heavy protective plastic sleeve that is factory sealed and has never been opened. Don't Miss It!

GRADING SCALE
I use a Universal Grading System to describe the quality of the LP albums and 45 singles that I sell. I grade records under strong, diffused room light or discreet sunlight. I do not use stock photos for my ads; all of my scans are of the Item You See! You get no surprises from me!
NOTE: Please keep in mind that when I describe any LP, I am referring to its Original Year Of Release, NOT the year that the LP was printed! In many cases, the year that a given LP was printed is unknown. When in doubt, PLEASE ASK me! Thank You!
All of my LP’s are stored upright in a SMOKE-FREE ENVIRONMENT!
- SS Mint (M): Album is New, Still Sealed and has never been played.
- Mint (M): The vinyl has no noticeable scratches, fingerprints or defects and looks like it has never been played, although there may be use at the spindle hole. The cover has no noticeable wear or defects. There may be very slight curling of the right side corners of the cover due to shrink wrap pressure. May still have it’s original shrink wrap. MINT does not mean "perfect".
- Near Mint (NM): Almost Mint vinyl with perhaps a few visual imperfections that should not affect the sound of the record. Cover is nice looking with little or no ring wear and may still have its original shrink wrap.
- VG++: Vinyl has some signs of wear; very clean, only light surface marks which will not distract significantly from the sound, but perhaps a little static, some snaps or pops. Cover may have some signs of wear, perhaps some ringwear but is still in nice collectible condition, solid with no cuts,holes or splits.
- VG+: Played often with moderate surface wear and some moderate noise, static, pops or skips - still plays well. Cover may have significant overall wear and ring wear.
- VG: Overall wear, more noisy sound during quiet passages, a lot of static and many skips that require lifting the needle. Cover is well worn, usually with considerable ring wear. may have cuts, holes, cut corners. May have taped edges. The lowest grade.
In my opinion, the grade of “Mint” and the word “Mint” does not equal Perfection. The grade of Perfection does not exist, as far as I know. Different phono cartridges and stereo setups, condition of the needle and if the record is cleaned before playing (or not cleaned) affects the way a vinyl record sounds. You can look at a record with the naked eye and not see micro imperfections which might affect the music and the sound. There are just too many variables. I listen to records after cleaning them. If I do not hear skips or pops or snaps and I do not see noticeable scratches, then as far as I am concerned, that record is Mint. Be very careful not to compare my grading standards with those of others. I do not use Goldmine and to compare my grades to Goldmine is not really fair. Remember, it's always best to ask questions BEFORE bidding!
