Ziricote has a very unique appearance, which is sometimes referred to as spider webbing, sometimes quilted grain figure. Quartersawn surfaces can also have ray flakes. It is naturally resistance to decay. Ziricote is fairly easy to work, turns and finishes well, and easy to glue. Ziricote lumber typically is becoming increasingly harder to get.  To some guitar builders, it is turning out to be the best and economic alternative for Brazilian rosewood.
