I've been slowly liquidating a well known 60 year family owned musical instrument business here in NYC around my mom who is still very active in the business, and although there's still more to go, I'm currently attacking the many bins where I continue to find very interesting items that I know many would be interested in.

My dad had a long and colorful career in the musical instrument business. I remember as a kid visiting all the different workshops and factories throughout Europe when my dad would take me along on one of his many buying trips. I accompanied him as a youngster in 1957 and then again a few times as a teenager. These trips were always fascinating.  On the trip we took in 1957 we went to Castelfidardo in Italy where he bought enough accordions for the entire town to throw a celebration in his honor.  This was just 12 years after the war so things were still pretty tough throughout Europe. A day or two later we went on to France where he stopped to check out SML woodwinds which he eventually introduced to the US market a few months later. Today the SML saxophone is legendary. Never missing an opportunity and since he was in Paris, my dad then stopped off at Riffault to buy mouthpieces.

Many of you have already bought some of this stock so you know these are brand new but date back to the late 1950's early 1960's. Having 20,000 square feet of cartons and crates aside from a floor with shelves up to the ceiling full of various merchandise and accessories, it not unusual that I continue to find items that I previously assumed were sold out. This item is one of those.
