Your are bidding on a Vintage Corona Silent Portable Typewriter, Cir 1934. Serial # 1S18953. Emerging from the depths of the Depression, The L. C. Smith Corona Typewriter Company launched a line of new portables: Standard, Sterling and Silent. The line was best known for its introduction of Floating Shift a superior shift mechanism that lowers the type bar basket instead of the carriage when typing capitals. The Sterling/Silent model had a handsome classic design with the color choice of maroon and green in addition to the black glossy finish. This typewriter is in very good condition. It has a few cosmetic blemishes mostly in the rear. It is a fully functioning typewriter and everthing works great. The ribbon is on its last leg and would neet replacing soon. It has recently been cleaned and oiled and is ready to go. The case is missing its handle and shows some signs of age, but is very sturdy. Please bid on this quickly before my wife finds out it is missing :)...This is her favorite!
