Here we have for auction an old bank obtained as a child in the 50's. It was a bank promotion to encourage savings. It is made of some kind of metal and is brass/gold in color. I always called it the "brain bank" because when I first saw it, it reminded me of a brain! It's actually a tree. On the TV commercials, the tree would take shape as the announcer would say "A good tree to come to for shelter" ---which is inscribed on the back side of the base. The front side is enscribed with "Minneapolis Savings & Loan Association".
The key is with the bank, it works a little rough, but it works. Probably nothing that a good oiling wouldn't fix.
The bank stands about 5" tall and the base is about 4" X 3".
