Reviews
Fantastic books5
My parents gave me this box set for my 19th birthday, and I have to
say that it is one of the best book series I have read. The plot is
intricate and fascinating and captures the feel of medieval times. A
great series which I highly recommend. by Naila Rahman
Fascinating Story5
I am one of those people who got into this amazing story after
watching the HBO series. I was very pleased to see that they respected
much of the story, changing only a few aspects. However, there is
something that the movies do not offer. The HBO series depicts something
reminiscent of the Middle Ages. The story might have castles and
dragons, but it is a far cry from a Crusade epic. Martin's Sci Fi fans
will be pleased to hear that A Song of Ice and Fire reads more like a
science fiction saga. It doesn't leave me with the feeling that
everything is happening in a parallel Earth such as Tolkien's Middle
Earth, but that the plot is unrolling on another planet, where dragons
and the dead might just as well be roaming the world. by Iulia Vacaroiu
