I was not able to locate any information on this artist, yet. It's quite clear that this painting is by a master who possesses the rare talent to successfully convey atmosphere and mood. This auction is an opportunity to acquire a masterwork painting for pennies compared to the 6-7 figure sums commanded by the artists peers, such as Wyeth.
This painting is framed in a crappy frame, which I would recommend replacing.
