This is a nice decorative map, in a banged up, gilded frame that has some "character" to it. Please note this listing is a reproduction done circa 1950's (?). The original map sells for $15,000.
An important and much sought after map by one of the world's finest
cartographers. The upper panel contains plans or views of South
American cities including Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro. The side
panels depict native American figures in their costumes. In the
interior, hints of the Great Lakes appear; the Mississippi River is cut
off by a great cross-country mountain range, and California is still a
peninsula.
