Betty Boop Collection
29 classic films on 3 DVDs
Betty Boop made her first appearance on August 9, 1930 in the cartoon Dizzy Dishes, which is included in this collection. Betty Boop is known as the first and one of the most famous sex symbols on the animated screen and an american icon.
Betty Boop`s best appearances are considered to be in the first three years due to her "Jazz Baby" character and innocent sexuality, which was aimed at adults. However, the content of her films was affected by the National Legion of Decency and the Production Code of 1933. The Production Code guidelines imposed on the Motion Picture Industry placed specific restrictions on the content films with references to sexual innuendo. This greatly affected the content of the Betty Boop cartoons until the end of the series. This 29 cartoons in this collection are mainly from these earlier more risque years.
Some of these cartoons were banned at one point in their career, they are not banned now, but they are still extremely taboo due to thier insensitive racial content. You would never see these aired by a major TV network.
Truly a great collection for any Betty Boop fan, this set has some of the most conroversial, jazzy, and hilarious Betty cartoons that were ever made.
Here is one of the cartoons included, a jazzy short featuring Cab Calloway and his orchestra, this is: Minnie the Moocher.

Betty Boop Collection comes with the following films:
Betty Boop: Volume 1
Betty Boop: Volume 2
Betty Boop: Volume 3
