The Post Office now charges $1.71 for postage per a 1 ounce package, and the cost of my bubble envelope is 50 cents. Then the cost of wrapping supplies, paper, more bubble wrap, tape, printer ink, etc. really adds up. This packaging is necessary to make sure these glass pieces arrive in one piece and undamaged. My wrapping has evolved over the years, as the Post Office pays no attention to a package marked fragile! This does not include any money for my time, or the price of gas to and from the Post Office.
Also, what no one is aware of...ebay/paypal now takes 9% of the shipping fees right off of the top as part of their fees...that's 27 cents, so I'm down to $2.73 for shipping by the time I get my money. Hope this helps you understand the cost of shipping and handling.
