Bound in full calf leather bindings. These are full leather bindings. Full leather bindings were more expensive to produce, and are highly desirable! Ornately gilded spines. Marbled edges, and end papers. Triple-ruled gilded framing to the covers, with elaborate blind stamping. Printed on thick quality paper with wide margins. Publisher's marginal notes. Printed in 1807. Oxford at The Clarendon Press.
In excellent condition. This set is over 200 years old. There is some general external wear/rubs, some chipping. All hinges are attached, but one has been professionally re-attached with archival materials. These are large books measuring 9 3/4 inches tall. Printed on quality paper, near free of all foxing. No writing. This is a gorgeous set & displays beautifully.
