Has an early armorial bookplate of B. Williams Ball. This set was custom bound for him by a friend as implied by the bound in armorial page stating William Whiteford for B. W. Ball. This is a custom one-of-a-kind full leather binding, of the highest quality, with armorial gilding along the spines. Illustrations and tissue paper intact. Some foxing but excellently preserved. Just the external wear, as noted.
Complete in 5-volumes. This is the First English Edition. Good+ condition. Hinges rubbed, all attached, some starting, One rear hinge archivally re-attached. Volume one has chips along the spine, may not be entirely visible in the pictures. Front blank end paper has some closed tears along the gutter section. Still tightly bound. Printed in London, 1838. Has the illustrated frontis.
