Engraved frontispiece portrait, January 1, 1797 after Richardson. Sepia lithograph full length portrait after Hoare called ".the only portrait that was ever drawn of Mr. Pope at full length. This drawing is therefore exceedingly valuable, as it is an Unique of the Celebrated Poet." It is protected in the original rag tissue paper.

Bound in FULL, RED, MOROCCO LEATHER of the highest quality!!

 No writing. Early armorial bookplates. Near free of foxing. All edges cased in thick gilt. The Blood-Red leather bindings display beautifully, This is a particularly gorgeous collection. Printed in 1796-1797, this set is in remarkable condition, highly collectible, and seldom seen. These books still try to close when opened.
