Very worn condition but complete. This is a very hard to obtain, landmark first edition. Marshall's Life of washington is the MOST DESIRABLE biography on Washington. This is the very first edition /first printing. 1804-1807. Set is complete but there is substantial wear, some heavy foxing in some areas, substantial cover wear, some tidemarks, Portrait of Washington is present. Rear hinge of volume 3 reattached. rear cover of volume five is very damaged. Textually complete. There are some tide marks. Set is not musty. This set has substantial external wear. Priced to sell.

Provenance: Bookplate of Benjamin Floyd Bookbinder (early 1800's bookplate, likely original owner).
