VERY GOOD, Near Mint condition. Hinges are fully attached and sound, and are internally extra-reinforced by the publisher. Some rubbing at the base of the front hinge, as shown. Some light general usage wear, some minor signs of foxing around the margins of some of the plates, as shown. The tissues are present, but some have some creasing. No writing or previous signs of ownership.

The text, by a noted historian and author of Vanishing London and similar works, is replete with historical facts which serve to provide the fascinating background of the novels' places and, often, the individuals on whom their characters were based. This is an exceptional collection of illustrated plates.

This would make an excellent gift and/or addition to any fine library.
