An exceptionally high quality set throughout. Bound in thick leather bindings with raised hubs. Printed on quality paper with wide margins. These are Large and Heavy books, 9 1/4" tall. Rag style paper, uncut pages, wide margins, the highest quality that can be produced. Both the leather bindings and the paper are of exceptionally high quality. This is an elaborate set that would have been very expensive to produce. These volumes are very heavy. VERY GOOD condition. All hinges fully attached. Early armorial bookplate, edge tidemarks, not musty, these display beautifully. Estes and Lauriat, Boston, 1895.
