This set also retains all of the original cardstock slipcases but the slipcases do show some splitting/breaking, and one has a large piece missing, as is shown in the pictures. The slipcases have served their purpose well, The books themselves look brand new and FLAWLESS, despite their age.

Each volume is an authorized facsimile of a different county's copy of the Versailles Peace Treaty (i.e. Vol. I - "the original art binding of the official French copy of the Versailles Peace Treaty which was signed by President Poncare and Pichon").


"This copy of The Great Events of the Great World War is registered in the name of Alan McLain and Jean McLain by their father SERGEANT LARRY B. McLAIN, 8TH ARMY CORP, U.S. ARMY" Vol. I signed by registrar to certify this registered edition.

This set includes an additional certificate (not found in other sets) that Sergeant Larry B. McLain rendered patriotic services to the national cause during the Spanish-American war. This is an important set with important provenance. And the condition is flawless. this is a highly desirable and very collectible set.
